Hi, I'm Peter Hannah, known in therapy circles as "Your Google Guy". My services are devoted to one thing - helping you grow your private practice (as a counselor, therapist, psychologist, and the like) through web marketing.
You probably are hearing that more and more people are using the web to find products and services. It's true, and the numbers just keep growing. More people use the web now to look for local services than use the Yellow Pages. So, if you are just building a practice, or want to grow or maintain an existing practice, it makes sense to have an effective web marketing campaign.
I help my fellow therapists in three distinct ways:
- I do Search Engine Optimization to help their sites show up in the natural (also called "organic") search engine listings on Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
- I set up Google Adwords Pay-Per-Click campaigns. This is where I earned my nickname, and still to me is the most potent tool in my website marketing arsenal.
- I consult with people on the effectiveness of their websites, because the website is what leads people to call or email you, and hopefully become a client.
I've tried to put as much information as possible here, so you can learn about what I do. I know most of you like being more focused on your clients and your work than all this technical stuff (and that some of us in this field have a bit of a block about marketing ourselves). I've been creating websites for over a decade (long before I became a therapist), and I built my own private practice from scratch using web marketing. I actually enjoy the marketing aspect of the business now. And since starting YourGoogleGuy in 2006, I've helped over 200 fellow therapists with their websites and getting traffic to them.

When I consulted with Peter Hannah for the first time in May, I had
been in private practice for six months. I had built my practice to
between 6 to 9 clients a week.
