Google Adwords for Therapists & Counselors - Your Google Guy

Lesson #7 - Final Thoughts.

If you just read all the lessons in a row, the firehose of information may have your head spinning. It'll all be OK though, I promise. Take a breath. There are lots of people out there that can help you build or improve a website. And you know more than you think you do. You are, after all, a helper or healer - you know about what you do, and you know about who you are as a clinician.

One thing to remember about websites is they are something you can update, change and improve as you learn. Unlike printed material, where once you get it it's set (like the $300 worth of letterhead I got, just to move offices after using 5% of it), a website can always change.

And there is no rule saying you have to have a website. If your practice is full, or at a level you are happy with, you may not want to bother. If you already have a great referral network, it may not be necessary. Or, if you are the biggest shmoozer out there and hand out 10 business cards a day, you might not need this. Websites are just another marketing tool, and one that is growing and growing. But I do believe a bad website is worse than no website at all.

For most people, working with a web professional is probably the way to go. When looking, check out their references (are customers happy?) and look at sites they have created. Can you imagine your site looking like one of those? And finally, costs range anywhere from a few hundred dollars (sites created from templates) to $1,000-$1,500. If they are proposing over $2,000 - you are probably getting ripped off.

I wish you all the ideal clients you want!

Best! Peter
