Google Adwords for Therapists & Counselors - Your Google Guy

Resources -> Therapist Website Designers & Hosts

There are too many web hosts (also known as ISPs) and website designers to keep track of - even for me! So I've taken the best resources I know and listed them here. That doesn't mean that someone *not* listed here is bad - perhaps I just don't know them. This is just my opinion, often from listening to your experiences.

If you want...
I'd suggest...
A nice looking site up the next day. The best template-driven, therapy-specific sites are from TherapySites.com. Template-driven is true, but that's really unfair to call it that. TherapySites only does sites for therapists, so they have not only the look & feel side down pat, but they also fold in an appointment scheduler, credit card processing and some other cool features. You can get a free month of service by using promo code PromoGG when you sign up.
A custom site up within a few weeks. Linda Chapman at TherapistWebsites.com. Linda has a distinctive look to her sites (I can tell them when I come across them). She is a therapist herself and makes nice, professional-looking therapy sites for a good price. I've done Adwords for a number of her clients and have never heard a bad thing about her.
A newer entry in the therapist website sweepstakes. Celena Allison at CallisonDesign.com is a newer entry into the field. I list her because there aren't enough therapist-specific website designers - we need someone who knows what a therapist's site should look like. Celena is an MFT.
The cheapest do-it-yourself template site. There are lots of choices here, but the feedback I get is that Homestead.com is the way to go. I personally think it's short-sighted to go with free sites that are self-designed, as they tend to look less professional. But hey, I'm a long-time web guy, so I have my biases.
Just hosting. 1and1.com is the host I use. I've used them for several years now for both my private practice site as well as this site. The combination of a great price, great uptime, easy-to-use interfaces (vs. some of the insanely hard-to-use ones I've seen) and good customer service makes this an easy pick. They have wizards and templates too, but I don't think those are the best available.
Someone to help you with the writing for your site. Juliet Austin at julietaustin.com. Juliet specializes in marketing copy and copywriting for therapists. If you need help figuring out how to market yourself, and how to say it in writing, Juliet is a great person to work with.
